Original deed of sale for the yacht bearing the seller's unilaterally authenticated signature:
- Municipal officials (present at the offices of each municipality in Italy), approved car and nautical practices agencies, and notaries can all certify a signature as authentic if it was made in Italy.
- The deed must be in bilingual format, authenticated by the notary, and apostilled in accordance with AJA convention if authenticated overseas (a printout can be created to be submitted as a facsimile). If the deed is executed in a country not party to the AJA convention, the consular notary of Italy must authenticate it in a consulate or general embassy of that country.
- Under penalty of penalties, the notarized and apostilled deed must be registered with the Italian Revenue Agency within 20 days following the notarization of the deed of sale.
- The notarized and annotated deed must be translated and sworn in an Italian court if it is only in a foreign language. (We can take care of the sworn translation for you)
For boats built before 1998 (PRE EC-REGULATION)
Boats from non-EU nations that have not received EC type approval may not be registered in Italy. To register them, you must either recertify the boat with a Post Construction Assessment that, if wanted, we can quantify with the technical body at the owner's request or you must present the EC construction certificates along with the EC type certificate.
- Original cancellation document from the foreign register
- Original certificate for engine power. PLEASE NOTE: Verify that the motors are CE certified before practice. If the engine power certificates are missing, you must request a replica from the manufacturer, who, if they have never been granted, will require you to provide a picture of the engine numbers, a copy of the navigation license, and a bill of sale for the boat.
- Technical certification for the issuance of a safety certificate from an accredited technical body: (RINA SERVICE SPA, NATIONAL AGENCY FOR SECURITY SRL (ANS SRL), UDICER NAUTITEST, ISTITUTO GIORDANO, QUALITY AND SECURITY, ENAVE). This is also acceptable as proof of the boat's technical specifications.
With the management body, you can negotiate a single tariff in your favor and a certification service with set costs that apply both in Italy and abroad. Travel costs must, of course, be calculated internationally and will be evaluated individually.

Identifying the buyer:
- If an Italian national resides in Italy: A copy of a current identity card, a copy of the tax code, a statement of residency, and information regarding marital status. The identity card of the Italian user's spouse must also be provided if the couple is married under a community property regime.
- If a foreign natural person, a copy of an identity card with a current address and a residency statement
- If an Italian firm, a declaration of certification referencing the registered office, a document from the legal representative, and an extract from the chamber of commerce
- If a European firm: a declaration of certification referencing all Italian-language corporate data, a document from the legal representative, and an extract from the chamber of commerce
- If a non-EU firm, an extract from the chamber of commerce, a document naming the legal representative, and a declaration of certification referencing all Italian-language information on the company.
Safety certification (Mandatory technical visit): the safety certification IS ISSUED AFTER A TECHNICAL VISIT ISSUED BY A QUALITY AND SECURITY, ENAVE) and is valid for the first registration of a boat for 5 years from the visit of the technical body.
By dividing the cost of the technical certification by the distance of the boats from the inspector, the costs for providing the safety certificate will be quantified with a specified tariff.
Registration with annotation of lease use requires that the company be Italian and engage in the activity of leasing.
Certification for Rental Use (Charter): In order for a boat to be used commercially, a post-registration technical visit in Italy is required (therefore the boat must already be registered in Italy) However, it is not advised to rent a boat with an Italian flag because of the police's strict oversight of the paperwork, the cumbersome procedures for boarding and disembarking marine employees, and the requirements for the boat driver's license.
